Victorian German Silver Coin & Compact Purse Sapphire 1900's Wristlet
This is a lovely 1900's Victorian German Silver powder, coin and mirror compact purse with Sapphire clasp and wristlet chain.
It's approximately 3 1/2 inches in length; not including the wristlet chain by 2 1/2 inches in width. The chain handle adds an additional 5 inch drop from the top of the piece.
This compact purse is in wonderful condition, with minimal signs of wear. It has a diamond shaped blank cartouche on the lid for engraving. Please mouse over the photos to see more detail.
All hinges, clasps, clips and coin holders are in working condition. One side has a clip for holding a dance card or cash, and the other side has two spring loaded coin holders for dimes and nickels, as well as the compact and mirror.
The interior mirror is in great useable condition, but has some slight silver loss around the edges. The powder compartment is clean, and contains a pretty unused handmade powder puff.
It is hallmarked "German Silver" on the interior, as can be seen in our third photo.
