Art Deco Clock Powder Compact Amere Swiss Clock Watch Rare Working Unused In Original Box
This is a very rare and fantastic 1940's Art Deco Amere Swiss clock or watch powder compact that is unused and comes in the original pouch and box.
The compact is a gold tone metal with silver metal accents around the clock face.
It measures 2 7/8ths inches square, and is approximately 5/8ths of an inch thick, and is well made, and of substantial weight.
The clock has a winding mechanism, similar to a wind up watch. The silver metal plate lifts up at 12:00 to reveal the winding mechanism, pull out the stem to set the time, and push the stem back in and wind it up, it works perfectly and keeps accurate time.
The piece is hallmarked Amere Made In Switzerland on the interior powder compartment lid.
We estimate that this compact was made in the 1940's.
The piece is in excellent condition with no dents, dings, rust or corrosion; and was never used.
It opens to a beveled mirror that is in terrific condition, as well as a clean powder compartment with locking lid, powder puff and sifter net that are in unused wonderful condition.
The hinges and closures work perfectly on both the interior powder compartment as well as the exterior compact lid.
