Antique Guilloche Compact Purse Powder Mirror Compact Dance Purse Wristlet Antique Victorian RARE
This is a absolutely gorgeous antique early 1900's guilloche powder compact purse or dance purse with wristlet chain.
The lovely yellow guilloche medallion is over 1 inch in length and is hand painted with a pretty pink rose and green leaves. The silver plated compact has a lovely etched pattern on the lid.
This is a very unique piece in that it has a pretty faceted garnet stone for the clasp.
The interior is gold and appears to be gold plated, not brass. It has a dial sifter style powder compartment, that works perfectly.
The mirror does have some slight silver loss spots that are mostly around the top edge, but has no cracks.
The compact measures 2 inches square, and the original wristlet carved chain is 9 inches in total length.
The edges of this piece have a beautiful repousse pattern all the way around the compact.
The hinge and clasp are in perfect condition, and in working order.
It has no visible hallmarks as to the maker or the metal content, and appears to be silver or nickle silver, but we have not tested this item.
This piece is in excellent condition, no dents, dings, deep scratches, rust or corrosion on this pretty piece; just a few tiny age spots and very minor scuff wear.
