LeMaire Fi Opera Glasses Antique Paris Mother Of Pearl Theater Glasses Binoculars MOP Opera Glasses In Original Case
This is a stunning pair of rare antique LeMaire Fi Paris 1800's mother of pearl opera glasses in the original leather case.
They measure 2 1/8th inches in height when closed and a bit over 2 3/4 inches high when fully extended, and are approximately 3 3/4 inches across the base of the lenes.
They are in perfect working condition, with smooth flywheel action. There is no damage to the optics, or to the gorgeous white mother of pearl. They have very ornate filigree around the top and bottom of the barrels; which makes them sparkle. The brass is exceptionally shiny, with some very light tarnish. The bridge has the original ladies name of "Pearl" engraved.
They are hallmarked on the eye pieces with "LeMaire Fi Paris", as well as "W. K. Vanderslice & Co. San Francisco"; where they were originally purchased in the late 1800's.
An absolutely fabulous pair of working opera glasses to add to your vignette, or for use at the theater or opera. They come in the original black leather case with red satin lining, with the well known bee on the clasp. The case shows some light wear, but is still in good usable condition. The handle on the case has separated on the one side. There is also a beautiful black and red silk embroidered cloth pouch that the case fits into.
