1800's Gold Ormolu Filigree And Mosaic Tango Compacts In Excellent Condition
This is an extremely rare and gorgeous set of late 1800's mosaic tango compacts with gold ormolu filigree and amber jewels. The compacts are attached by a chain, and one would have been for a solid powder plate and the other is for solid rouge plate. Both compacts have pretty mosaic tile center medallions, and beautiful ormolu filigree lids. The larger one also has pretty bezel set amber jewels; and comes with the original powder puff. They open and close as they should, and have clear mirrors. There is no serious damage, just some light age appropriate tarnish that can be viewed in our high resolution photos. The larger compact measures approximately 2 inches in diameter, and the smaller is 1 inch in diameter.
