Art Nouveau Silveroin Match Safe Circa 1895 to 1915 Match Holder Vesta Case Made In England
Here's a very pretty Art Nouveau vesta match safe or holder from the late 1800's to early 1900's.
The piece is in very good condition, with a nice tight snap spring closure on the lid. Both sides have the same design, which would be perfect for adding your initials. It's hallmarked Silveroin, which is a trademark of a white silver metal alloy that was made by the Bristol Silver Company in England between 1895 to 1915.
The bottom edge does have a striker bar for lighting your matches. It measures approximately 2 5/8 inches in height by about 1 3/4 inches across and 1/2 inch in thickness. It has light age related wear including some light indentations. A very charming piece to use or display.
