Italian Gold Ormolu Enamel Compact Purse 1900s Antique Excellent Condition Rare
This is an extremely rare and lovely early 1900's Italian gold ormolu and enamel compact purse.
It's in excellent condition, both inside and out. The only issue is very slight tiny white age spots on the beveled glass mirror. It still is very reflective, and has no other damage.
It is hallmarked "Made In Italy" on the interior gold mirror frame. The heavily gold plated interior is in wonderful shiny condition, and comes with an unused handmade silk embroidered powder puff.
The white and cobalt blue enameling with gold ormolu overlay is stunning, with no damage. Beautifully detailed with lovely repousse edges all around the piece. The lid top edge has 9 raised high polished oval lapis stones that vary in size, the largest being the center stone, and gradating to smaller stones. It opens with a kiss clasp, and the hinges and closure are aligned and work well.
The piece measures approximately 3 1/4 inches in length by 2 1/4 inches, not including the kiss clasp.
