LeMaire Fi Mother Of Pearl Opera Glasses 1890s Paris Theater Glasses 1920s Gold Mesh Gate Top Purse
A gorgeous pair of 1890's Lemaire Fi Paris mother of pearl opera or theater glasses that come in a beautiful gold mesh gate top purse.
The glasses measure 2 1/8 inches in height when closed and almost 2 3/4 inches high when fully extended, and are a bit over 3 5/8 inches across the base of the lenses. They come in a gold tone mesh gate top purse that is in excellent condition. The purse measures approximately 5 inches in height. The expansion gate opens to 3 1/2 inches in diameter. The lining is clean and free from any damage.
The glasses are also in near perfect condition, with no damage to the lenses, or mother of pearl, and they have nice bright shiny gold tone metal. The action is nice and smooth, and the viewing is clear.
They are hallmarked on each eye piece with Lemaire Fi Paris, as well as the famous bee hallmark. They also have hallmarks on the underside of the bridge with a bee stamp on one side and Made In France on the other side. The coloration of the mother of pearl is much more attractive and colorful than our photos show.
