Victorian Gold Filled Compact Chatelaine Smelling Salts Snuff Box Finger Ring
This is a pretty little antique Victorian gold filled engine turned chatelaine compact snuff or smelling salts box in excellent condition.
It has a blank cartouche on the lid for your initials, and the compact measures approximately 1 3/8 inches in length and 1 inch in width, not including the chain and ring. The total length with finger ring chatelaine is 5 inches. The hinge, and clasp work perfectly, and it closes tight and secure. It appears to be hallmarked on the top bail that is attached to the compact. It's difficult to decipher even with a jewelers loupe.
This compact has some ever so slight scuffing that is barely noticeable, but no serious damage. Check our high resolution photos for more of the lovely detail on the lid. It is actually much more attractive than our photos show.
