1926 D F Briggs Victorian Silver Guilloche Wristlet Compact Dance Purse
Another wonderful D. F. Briggs silver tone and guilloche powder and rouge compact dance purse with wristlet chain, made in 1926.
The compact is hallmarked D.F. B. Co., which stands for the D.F. Briggs Company, mostly recognized for their higher end watch fobs. It also has a patent date of February 9th, 1926.
The compact is almost 3 inches in length by 1 3/4 inches in width; not including the ball clasp.
The edges are very ornately decorated with a beautiful repousse design. The lid has a pretty guilloche medallion with a pretty blue flower and green leaves.
The closure works perfectly and the hinge action is smooth.
It opens to two separate compartments; one for dial sifter compartment for powder and one smaller compartment for rouge, with some rouge remaining. It also has two lovely handmade blue stitched and iridescent beaded powder puffs.
The piece comes with a pretty bar and link wristlet chain, which makes it a lovely way of carrying this compact.
It has a mirror that is in great condition, with only very slight hazing.
As with all vintage items, there is some slight age wear; including slight discoloration and a small faint ding on the back side, that can be viewed in our high resolution photos.
